CUB SCOUT PACK 707

Brea Cub Scout Pack 707 has been a cornerstone of the Brea and Fullerton communities for over 40 years, offering boys and girls the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow in a supportive and adventurous environment. Based out of the Brea Scout Hut, our pack is a hub for activities that inspire creativity, foster friendships, and build confidence in our young scouts.

At Pack 707, our scouts engage in a diverse range of activities designed to broaden their horizons and build essential life skills. We participate in a variety of events that include outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, and nature explorations, where scouts learn the basics of outdoor survival, teamwork, and environmental stewardship. Additionally, our scouts take part in exciting events such as the Pinewood Derby, where they design, build, and race their own model cars, and the Blue and Gold Banquet, a celebratory event marking the anniversary of the Cub Scouting program.

Community service is another vital component of our program. Our scouts regularly contribute to local service projects, from organizing food drives to participating in clean-up days, teaching them the importance of giving back to their community. Educational activities are also a significant part of our program, with events that introduce scouts to new skills and hobbies, such as science experiments, arts and crafts, and even learning basic first aid.

While fundraising events like selling Trail’s End Popcorn and Christmas trees help us sustain these programs, our primary goal is to provide a well-rounded experience that prepares our scouts for the future. Through Cub Scouting, they develop skills in leadership, responsibility, and citizenship, all while having fun and building lifelong friendships.

About the Cub Scout Program

Learn about what each age group learns and experiences in Cub Scouting

Lion (Kindergarten)

The Lion program is designed for kindergarten-age boys and girls, offering a fun introduction to the world of Scouting. Through engaging activities and simple adventures, Lions learn the basics of being a scout, including teamwork, good manners, and outdoor skills. The program emphasizes family involvement, with parents playing an active role in all activities. Lions participate in activities such as nature hikes, simple craft projects, and group games that help develop motor skills and social interaction.

Tiger (1st Grade)

Tigers are first graders who take their first steps into the broader world of Cub Scouting. The Tiger program is all about exploration and discovery. Tigers work with their adult partners to complete activities that teach them about their community, the importance of helping others, and basic outdoor skills. The program includes activities like visiting local landmarks, performing simple service projects, and learning to build things with their hands. Tigers also begin learning the basics of Cub Scouting traditions and values.

Wolf (2nd Grade)

The Wolf rank is for second graders who are ready to dive deeper into the Scouting experience. Wolves participate in more advanced adventures that help them develop confidence, responsibility, and practical skills. They engage in activities such as learning about their duty to country, exploring nature, and beginning to understand the importance of fitness and healthy living. Wolves work on projects that involve more detailed planning and execution, which helps them build independence and problem-solving abilities.

Bear (3rd Grade)

Bear scouts are in third grade and ready to take on even more challenging adventures. The Bear program focuses on building self-reliance and encouraging scouts to take on leadership roles within their den. Bears explore topics like outdoor cooking, first aid, and building stronger connections with their family and community. They also engage in more complex projects that require teamwork and perseverance. Through these activities, Bear scouts learn the value of responsibility and the satisfaction of achieving their goals.

Webelos (4th Grade)

Webelos scouts are fourth graders who are preparing for the transition to Boy Scouting. The Webelos program is designed to provide more in-depth exploration of various skills, with a focus on leadership and personal growth. Webelos engage in activities that include advanced outdoor skills, such as navigation and fire building, as well as learning about different career paths and developing hobbies. This program also introduces scouts to the concept of service to others, helping them develop a strong sense of community responsibility.

Arrow of Light (5th Grade)

The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting and is for fifth graders who are preparing to move on to a Scouts BSA troop. This program focuses on refining the skills learned in earlier ranks and preparing scouts for the challenges and adventures of Boy Scouting. Arrow of Light scouts work on advanced projects that require leadership, critical thinking, and a commitment to service. They also have the opportunity to participate in activities that introduce them to the Boy Scouting program, ensuring a smooth transition as they continue their Scouting journey.
