Sadly – this event has been cancelled due to the Airport Fire in Southern OC. We plan to return to Caspers Spring of 2025!
Here are the details and RSVP notice for our Campout at Caspers Wilderness Park!
When:
2 NIGHTS; Friday, Sept. 13th @ 4pm to Sunday, Sept. 15th @ 11am
Where:
Caspers Wilderness Park
33401 Ortega Hwy
San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675; Campsite: Owl/Quail (a large group site that holds 50 people and 20 cars)
Cost/RSVP:
Scout/Sibling: $35 each
Adult/Parent: $45 each
This price per person includes four meals, campsite registration, and all the camping fun!
To RSVP, please submit your payment through the Brea Pack 707 Zelle at breapack707payments@gmail.com.
There are only 50 spots available, since this is the limit for our campsite. When paying with Zelle, please include your scouts name and how many youth & adults you are paying for. We can only register you once we’ve received payment and medical forms (if not already provided).
Activities:
Caspers is a fantastic opportunity to just camp, relax under the shady tree canopy provided by the Sycamores and Live Oaks, and your scout(s) can engage in some fun physical activities, taking a walk on the nature trail, visit their nature center, and playing on the playground jungle jim. Also, Den leaders are planning on offering scouts the opportunity to earn adventure loops (please ask your den leader for the details).
Meals:
The cost includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. You can bring your own food Friday night, but we can also make hot dogs for those that need a quick bite during camp setup. If you have dietary restrictions that we cannot accommodate. We plan on cooking and eating as a pack, and willing parents are encouraged to lend a hand in the kitchen. Those that do the menu planning and shopping with me (volunteers welcome!), will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, veggie/vegan/kosher/allergy, please just let me know what accommodations are needed.
Water:
Each family is requested to bring 2 gallons of water.
Please note, on this campout we will be dry camping. We will be bringing in all the potable water needed for cooking, hand washing, and cleaning. Currently this campground/park has no running water.
Park Message: Due to insufficient well water supply, the domestic water lines throughout all campsites and restroom/shower facilities will be shut off for the foreseeable future. Please bring potable water. Portable restrooms and handwash stations will be available throughout the park. We apologize for any inconvenience.References:
